Retail and sales experience is ideal. A love of fashion is wonderful, but warmth, initiative, reliability, and strong customer service instincts matter just as much.

Retail Sales Associate | Women’s Fashion & Consignment

The Closet Concierge is looking for an experienced, personable Retail Sales Associate to join our small, collaborative team in Sedona.

We are a locally owned women’s consignment boutique offering an ever-changing mix of designer pieces, vintage finds, everyday favorite brands, local makers, and truly unexpected treasures. Our customers and consignors are at the heart of the store, and we want someone who enjoys building relationships, helping women feel great in what they wear, and creating a welcoming shopping experience.

This is an active, hands-on retail position that involves much more than operating the register. Team members move throughout the store, assist customers, process a steady flow of incoming merchandise, maintain displays, and share responsibility for keeping the store organized and ready for business.

The right person is warm, dependable, organized, comfortable taking initiative, and willing to pitch in wherever needed. Retail experience is strongly preferred, particularly in women’s fashion, boutique retail, resale, consignment, merchandising, or styling.

Responsibilities

• Welcome customers and consignors warmly and professionally
• Help customers find pieces that fit their needs, personal style, and comfort level
• Provide attentive service without creating a high-pressure sales experience
• Recommend complementary pieces when appropriate
• Operate the point-of-sale system and complete transactions accurately
• Process returns, discounts, and other transactions according to store policies
• Perform basic retail calculations related to pricing, discounts, and transactions
• Answer telephone inquiries professionally and accurately
• Explain the consignment process, policies, timelines, and payouts
• Schedule consignment appointments and maintain accurate customer information
• Receive and inspect incoming consignment items according to store standards
• Enter inventory accurately into the consignment software
• Price, tag, hang, organize, and prepare merchandise for the sales floor
• Merchandise racks and displays so the store remains fresh and inviting
• Maintain familiarity with current inventory and store policies
• Maintain fitting rooms, customer areas, inventory spaces, and the sales floor
• Assist with opening and closing procedures
• Support store events, promotions, and special initiatives
• Share responsibility for everyday housekeeping and operational tasks
• Communicate clearly with the owner and other team members about customer, consignor, and inventory needs

Qualifications

• Previous retail or customer-service experience; women’s fashion, boutique, consignment, or resale experience is a plus
• Friendly, confident, and comfortable engaging with a wide variety of people
• A genuine interest in fashion, personal style, and secondhand shopping
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently
• Comfortable learning and using point-of-sale and consignment software
• Able to move easily between customer service, sales, inventory, and operational responsibilities
• Willing to take initiative while also working as part of a close-knit team
• Professional, respectful, and discreet with customer and consignor information

Physical and Scheduling Requirements

• Ability to remain standing and move throughout the store for most of the scheduled shift
• Ability to bend, reach, hang clothing, carry merchandise, and perform routine housekeeping tasks, with or without reasonable accommodation
• Dependable transportation and consistent, punctual attendance
• Availability to work weekends and most holidays as scheduled
• The store is closed on Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and New Year’s Day; other holidays may be regular working days
